Vol. 118 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Industries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the need for the establishment of a suitable industry at Ballytore, County Kildare; and, if so, whether he will direct the attention of the Industrial Development Authority to the desirability of restarting the tannery which formerly operated in that town.

I am aware of the general need to establish suitable industries in rural areas. The Industrial Development Authority is aware of the circumstances under which the tannery which formerly operated in Ballytore had to suspend operations. The advice and guidance of the authority are at the disposal of any party interested in having the tannery reopened.
