Vol. 131 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Land.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) the acreage acquired by the Land Commission from 31st March, 1951, to 31st March, 1952; (b) the acreage taken possession of in the same period, and (c) the acreage concerning which provisional lists were published and resumption orders were granted.

In 1951/52 the Land Commission acquired, purchased or resumed 14,500 acres, took possession of 22,800 acres and instituted proceedings for the acquisition, purchase or resumption of 32,900 acres. There may be a slight increase in these figures when the returns are finally co-related and checked.
