Vol. 144 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork E.S.B. Arrangements.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the present unsatisfactory position regarding (a) the servicing and (b) the system of collection of accounts in the Crosshaven, County Cork, area by the E.S.B.; and, if so, whether he is prepared to recommend the reintroduction of the system previously in operation to the board.

This is a matter of day-to-day administration in respect of which I have no function. Any representations the Deputy may wish to make should be addressed to the E.S.B.

Is the Minister aware that the new system put into operation in the area by the E.S.B. means less employment and satisfactory service for the people concerned and, in view of the high charges for electricity, is the Minister satisfied that this system should operate?

I have no information about it.

The information is available to the Minister.
