Vol. 146 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Factory Inspector's Annual Report.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if consideration has been given to the desirability of having an annual report of the chief inspector of factories published, providing information, observations and suggestions on lines similar to the annual reports of the chief inspector of factories for the United Kingdom.

In its present form, the annual report on the work of the factory inspection service gives statistics concerning the operation of the Factory and Workshop Acts, 1901 to 1920, as well as the particulars necessary to implement the requirements of Convention No. 81 of the International Labour Organisation concerning labour inspection in industry.

While I consider that the form of the annual report meets the circumstances of this country, I will be glad to consider proposals for the inclusion of additional particulars within reasonable limits.
