Vol. 152 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building Grant Application.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received an application, particulars of which have been supplied to him, for a building grant in respect of a dwelling-house at Coolcran, Ballina, County Mayo, and if so, when the application was received; further, if the application was accompanied by the usual plans and the approval of the appointed officer under the Housing Acts, and if he will state the name of the appointed officer.

An application was received from a person having the same surname and address as that given. The appointed officer for the area submitted to my Department on the 31st March, 1955, the house plan received by him from the applicant. The certificate of approval was issued by the appointed officer on the 18th May, 1955.

The Minister is definitely aware that the application was sent to the Department in connection with this grant?

I think the Deputy knows a lot more about it than I do.

I know all about it. It is just an attempt to discredit me.

I have not looked at it in that way and I have not indicated that, either.
