asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the contributions for insurance against unemployment, sickness and widowhood for which employers and adult employees were liable on 1st January, 1947; what changes have been made since and from what date in each case.

The rates of contributions payable by employers and adult employees in respect of insurance against unemployment, sickness and widowhood since the 1st January, 1947, and the period during which these rates were payable are set out in the following Tables:—

As from the 5th January, 1953, the following special rate of contribution for widows' and orphans' pensions only has been applicable to voluntary contributors and persons in certain employments covered by the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1953 (S.I. No. 10 of 1953):—
