Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits: Undetermined Claims.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state separately the number of undetermined claims for unemployment benefit, disability benefit, and unemployment assistance at present under examination in his Department for over (a) one month, (b) two months and (c) any period in excess of three months.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

In addition a total of 751 claims for unemployment benefit—(a) 264, (b) 148 and (c) 339—in respect of which there are grounds to suspect fraud are under investigation.
