Vol. 182 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Works Schemes for Laois Villages.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will undertake to investigate the necessity for the provision of a water works scheme for the villages of Camross and Coolrain, County Laois; and if a suitable grant will be made available by his Department for the purpose.

The provision of a piped water supply for Camross and Coolrain has been investigated by Laois County Council and a scheme to serve an area which includes these villages is under consideration by the Council. State subsidy for schemes of this nature is given by way of recoupment of 50% of the annual loan charges involved.
