asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals under the main and county road improvement grants he has received from Tipperary (South Riding) County Council for 1962-63; and whether he has approved of these proposals.

The following main road improvement schemes have been submitted this year by Tipperary (South Riding) County Council and approved: on T.36 (Cashel-Horse) and Jockey Road), £51,200; on T.13 (Clonmel-Carrick-on-Suir Road) at Ballydine, £28,000.
124 schemes were submitted under the County Road Improvement Grant. They provided for the rolling of 41.4 miles for £41,700 approximately, the surface dressing of 65.6 miles for £21,300 approximately, and for 41 schemes of miscellaneous improvement, such as the improvement of junctions and bends, at an estimated cost of £28,100. Subsequently seven revised schemes costing £6,090 were submitted in lieu of eight of the original works and the amended programme was approved.
