Vol. 198 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Road Improvement Grants.

59.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposals under the main and county road improvement grants he has received from Tipperary (South Riding) County Council for 1962-63; and whether he has approved of these proposals.

The following main road improvement schemes have been submitted this year by Tipperary (South Riding) County Council and approved: on T.36 (Cashel-Horse) and Jockey Road), £51,200; on T.13 (Clonmel-Carrick-on-Suir Road) at Ballydine, £28,000.

124 schemes were submitted under the County Road Improvement Grant. They provided for the rolling of 41.4 miles for £41,700 approximately, the surface dressing of 65.6 miles for £21,300 approximately, and for 41 schemes of miscellaneous improvement, such as the improvement of junctions and bends, at an estimated cost of £28,100. Subsequently seven revised schemes costing £6,090 were submitted in lieu of eight of the original works and the amended programme was approved.

Question No. 60 postponed.
