Vol. 200 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Council of Europe Conventions.

17.

asked the Minister for External Affairs what is the attitude of the Government with regard to Recommendation 349 on the ratification of Council of Europe Conventions which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 18th January, 1963; and what action the Government have taken, or propose to take, on it in conformity with the report of the Legal Committee (Document 1543) of the Consultative Assembly.

It is considered that Resolution (61) 6, adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 27th February, 1961, already meets the concern expressed by the Consultative Assembly in Recommendation 349 and by the Legal Committee in its report (Document 1543). In accordance with Resolution (61) 6, a report on the ratification by Ireland of Council of Europe Conventions in 1962 has been sent to the Secretary-General.
