Vol. 202 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tramore Sewerage Scheme.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the reason for the present hold-up in connection with the carrying out of the Tramore sewerage scheme, County Waterford.

Waterford County Council are awaiting the submission by their technical advisers of contract documents for Stage 1 of the scheme, and of plans for Stage 2. The council experienced certain difficulties in regard to the preparation of these documents but it is hoped that they will be resolved in the near future.

Could the Minister tell us when were the plans first sent up for this scheme?

When were the plans first sent up?

Yes, when were they first sent to the Department?

On 14th June, 1962, a letter was issued to the Waterford County Council approving of the plans and stating that contract documents could now be prepared. As far as I can see, the contract documents have not yet been presented but the Deputy should verify that by a question to the Minister.

Can the Minister not answer a reasonable question: when was this scheme sent up to the Department from the Waterford County Council?

Ask Deputy Kyne, he knows all about it.

I suggest that if the Deputy wants detailed information, he should put down a question. It is no trouble to him.

It is nearly 15 years old.
