Vol. 217 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sandymount Strand Reclamation.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has power at his disposal to limit the area of Sandymount strand Dublin, which may be reclaimed by the Dublin Port and Docks Board; and, if so, if he will consider doing so.

The reclamation of Sandymount strand is a matter which should be dealt with in the development plan being prepared for Dublin city. When such a plan is made it would be open to me to require any of its provisions to be altered. In the meantime I propose to obtain advice on the matter from the consultant whom I have appointed to advise me on the planning of the Dublin region.
