Vol. 295 No. 4

Written Answers. - Technicians Wages.

83.

asked the Minister for Education why his Department have not sanctioned payment of the increase in wages recommended by the Labour Court (Recommendation No. 4067) for technicians employed by the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee in the Bolton Street Kevin Street Colleges of Technology.

I would refer the Deputy to the budget speech made by the Minister for Finance on 28th January, 1976—column 630 of the Dáil Debates—in which he stated that "The Government have, therefore, reluctantly come to the conclusion that they have no option but to defer consideration of all outstanding claims for special increases, subject to a few exceptions, until at least the end of 1976".
