asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the agreement which a person (name supplied) in County Kerry signed on the 26th January, 1976, to purchase his UDC house subject to the sanction of the Minister; the date on which Killarney UDC applied for the grant for this house; and the present position concerning the grant application.

I am informed by Killarney Urban District Council that the person referred to did not sign any agreement to purchase a house from the council and that the council have not sought a grant from my Department in respect of the house of which he is the tenant.
I understand from the council that the agreement signed was the normal tenancy agreement which does not require my sanction. If the tenant wishes to purchase the house under the terms of the 1976 sales scheme it is open to him to apply to the council not later than 30th June, 1977.
