asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in Dublin and if priority will be given in this case in view of the applicant's profession.

It will not be possible to carry out the cabling work, on which provision of service for this priority applicant is dependent, until early next year. Service will be provided immediately the necessary cabling becomes available. The possibility of providing service by temporary means has been examined but regrettably this is not feasible at present.

Service has not yet been offered to the two applicants concerned who applied in January and February of this year. It is expected that service will be offered to both applicants in about three months or so.
