The annual percentage increases in the wholesale price index for building and construction materials for 1977, 1978 and 1979 were 17.8 per cent, 7.1 per cent and 15.1 per cent, respectively. For the ten months ending October 1980 (the latest month for which information is available) average price levels were 20.8 per cent above the average levels for 1979.
