asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the reply given to Parliamentary Question No. 682 of 26 April 1983 in relation to the telephone application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 is identical to the answer which was given to the same question one year ago i.e. it is expected that service will be provided within about a year; and if it possible to give a more definite date for the provision of service.

It was not possible to meet the tentative one year forecast given in an answer supplied to a parliamentary question 12 months ago mainly because it was necessary subsequently to divert most of the available skilled jointing resources in the Dublin area to urgent repair and maintenance work.
I regret that it is not possible to give a more definite date for the provision of service than that contained in the recent answer referred to by the Deputy.
