Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

490.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the level of approval for a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be increased in view of the fact that extra works were carried out which were included in the job description but were not covered on the approval figure.

No. The grant of £600 approved in this case related to the provision of an extra bedroom and is the maximum grant payable for such works under the relevant statutory regulations.

A grant could not be approved in respect of repairs to the house because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the house improvement scheme, ten years had not elapsed since a previous reconstruction grant was paid in respect of this house.
