Vol. 366 No. 6

Written Answers - Edenderry (Offaly) Advance Factory.

27.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the present position with regard to the IDA advance factory in Edenderry, County Offaly; the efforts made to find an industry for this advance factory; and if he anticipates having an industry for this factory in the near future.

Limerick East): I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the advance factory in Edenderry, County Offaly, which was provided by a private developer, comprises four units of 3,000 square feet, each which is suitable for a small industry project.

At present one of the units is occupied by an IDA assisted manufacturing undertaking. To date efforts to secure projects for the remaining units have been unsuccessful but the IDA will continue to promote these units together with the 23 acres industrial site in the town for suitable industrial projects. It is not possible to anticipate when suitable projects may be secured.
