Vol. 385 No. 2

Written Answers. - Encouragement of Co-education.

221.

asked the Minister for Education the incentive she is prepared to give to single sex primary schools in order that they might reorganise on a co-educational basis; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

It is not considered necessary to offer incentives to encourage re-organisation of schools on co-educational basis. Popular demand is for co-education, which takes account of the social and educational benefits deriving from such amalgamations.
