Vol. 388 No. 1

Written Answers. - Shipping Arrangements.

52.

asked the Minister for the Marine if he has satisfied himself that the Bandick is a safe vessel for the shipment of valuable alpaca yarn from Galway to the Aran Islands.

The m. v. Bandick is registered in Galway and has a deadweight tonnage of 400 tonnes. The vessel is at present undergoing a survey for a load line certificate. Provided the certificate is granted and the conditions of the certificate are compiled with the vessel may ply cargo between Galway and the Aran Islands. The question of the suitability of the vessel for a particular type of cargo is a matter for the owners of the vessel and the owners of the cargo.
