Question:158 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment whether his Department have a register of licensed dump sites in each county; and if so, if he will make them available to Deputy Garland.

Waste management and planning, including the issue of permits for waste disposal operations, is a matter for the local authorities concerned. While my Department do not keep a register of waste disposal sites, data relating to local authority and privately owned sites is contained in the National Database on Waste (1986), a copy of which is available in the Oireachtas Library.
