Question:

48 Miss M. Wallace asked the Taoiseach if he will outline, (1) the number of self-employed women and (2) the proportion women form of the total self-employed workforce.

The latest source of information on the number of persons who are self-employed is the 1990 labour force survey which was carried out in April-May of that year. The information requested by the Deputy is contained in the following table.
