Vol. 420 No. 7

Written Answers. - Federation of Sports Bodies.

John Ellis

Question:

66 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the part played by the Irish Federation of Sports Bodies over recent years in seeking to promote unity and co-operation between voluntary sports bodies for the improvement of the infrastructure of sport in this country; and if the development of such democratic body is open for membership to all national governing bodies of sport.

I understand that the Irish Federation of Sports Bodies, which was established in 1984, has ceased to function for some time.

As autonomous bodies, it is open to national governing bodies of sport to form and participate in such federation.
