Vol. 431 No. 1

Written Answers. - Shared House Ownership Scheme.

Michael Noonan

Question:

74 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment if the requirement in the shared house ownership scheme to pay a deposit of £1,000 will be abolished, or reduced, in view of the fact that many applicants have great difficulty in coming up with this amount; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The terms of the shared ownership scheme, together with the terms of the other schemes introduced in "A Plan for Social Housing" are currently being reviewed in my Department. The outcome will be announced as soon as the review is completed.
