Vol. 431 No. 7

Written Answers - Dún Laoghaire (County Dublin) Marina.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

67 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine the approaches, if any, that have been made to his Department or to the Dún Laoghaire Interim Harbour Board, within the last year, by any potential developer with a view to obtaining permission for a marina within Dún Laoghaire Harbour; if his Department is involved in any discussions with any such potential developer; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A number of inquiries have been received from interested parties on the provision of marina facilities at Dún Laoghaire Harbour. However, no firm proposals have been lodged. Advancement of proposals for marina development is dependent on the outcome of site investigations at the harbour.

My Department is not currently engaged in discussion in relation to any particular development. I will be consulting the board further in the matter in the near future.
