Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Applicant Statistics.

Frank Crowley

Question:

169 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will confirm that there are approximately 3,000 beef premium applicants waiting payment of their grants since June 1992; and if this figure is inaccurate, if he will give the correct figure.

It is estimated that there are approximately 2,700 of the June 1992 special beef premium applicants not yet paid grants. Most of these cases are either the subject of queries to the applicants concerned or have been rejected at a computer validation check. Every effort is being made to have outstanding problems resolved and I expect that all cases which are found to be in order will be paid in the next few weeks.
