95 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if funding for Blanchardstown arts and culture centre will be approved in view of the importance of this strategic project in the centre of an emerging new satellite town with a population of over 60,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application for financial assistance under the cultural development incentives scheme, to be administered by my Department under the Operational Programme for Tourism 1994-1999, has been received in respect of a proposed arts centre in Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin.
Due to the large number of applications received and the detailed nature of the evaluation process, it is expected that it will be some time before decisions are made on the projects to be funded for 1995.
