Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Clearance Certificates.

Brian Cowen

Question:

116 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if tax clearance certificates are no longer required to be produced by farmers for the purposes of being paid under the headage schemes in view of the recent ruling by the European Commission on the matter. [6459/95]

The issue of tax clearance as a requirement under the headage schemes is the subject of discussions between the Commission and the Irish authorities. The discussions will be finalised shortly after which the present arrangements may have to be reviewed.
