Vol. 462 No. 1

Written Answers. - Anonymous Letters.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

77 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the standard procedures operated when his office or the office of the Minister(s) of State at his Department receives an anonymous letter; and if he has satisfied himself with the procedures that currently operate. [4103/96]

The action to be taken on receipt of an anonymous letter is decided in each case, having regard to the nature and content of the letter. In very many cases, the content is such that the only appropriate action is to destroy the letter.
