113 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the legislative and administrative priorities of his Department in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5286/96]

The legislative and administrative priorities of my Department for 1996 are listed in the following schedule:

1. Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provision) Bill.

2. Telecommunications Bill.

3. Utilities Regulatory Commission Bill.

4. Transport (Dublin Light Rail) Bill.

5. Turf Development Bill.

6. Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Bill.

7. Air Navigation and Transport Bill.

8. Electricity Bill.

9. Minerals Development Bill.

10. Road Transport Bill.

The overriding administrative priority for 1996 is to plan and manage an effective and efficient EU Presidency for the transport, energy and communications sectors. In addition the following are the major priorities for 1996 for my Department.
Telecom Éireann Strategic Alliance.
Utility Regulatory Development for the Electricity, Gas and Telecommunications sectors.
Facilitating necessary change in the Electricity Sector.
Public Transport Investment.
