Vol. 463 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Tony Gregory

Question:

87 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade, arising from his reply to Parliamentary Questions No. 141 of 27 March 1996, whether the 1996 Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade received an additional £100,000 from State funding and another £200,000 from the European Regional Development Fund. [7256/96]

As I indicated in my reply of 27 March the total State funding allocated to the Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade and festival was £220,000.

I understand, however, that the autonomous management board for marketing approved a European Regional Development Fund grant of £200,000 for this project. The management board for marketing was formed by the Minister for Tourism and Trade to examine and approve all applications for EU grant assistance for marketing projects under the Operational Programme for Tourism 1994-99.
