Vol. 481 No. 7

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

191 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health and Children the number awaiting orthodontic treatment in south Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17025/97]

The provision of orthodontic services to eligible children in the south Tipperary area and the maintenance of the waiting list is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board.

I have been advised by the South-Eastern Health Board that the orthodontic waiting list for the board's area is now centralised through the orthodontic department at Waterford Regional Hospital. At present 92 people from the south Tipperary area are on the waiting list.
