141 Mr. Kirk asked the Taoiseach the percentage of family household income spent on transport needs, for example motoring costs, for each of the years 1970, 1980, 1990, 1996 and 1997. [1654/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 141, 142, 143, 144 and 145 together.

The information requested by the Deputy is compiled from the CSO's household budget survey. This survey is conducted every seven years. Data from 1973, 1980, 1987 and 1994 surveys are supplied herewith.
