The most recent population and labour force projections report was prepared by the CSO in 1994 and published in 1995, using the census and labour force information then available. This included labour force projections up to the year 2006. Because of the uncertainties of the assumptions which would be involved, the labour force projections were not divided into their employment and unemployment components. An updated set of projections is being prepared by the CSO for publication towards the end of 1998.
