Vol. 487 No. 5

Written Answers - Crop Losses.

Dan Neville

Question:

89 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will provide details of the compensation to date to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick for loss of crops destroyed in the August 1997 flooding. [4493/98]

No payments, as yet, have been made under the scheme of assistance for weather related crop losses in 1997. Payments will commence following detailed examination of individual applications in relation to the scheme criteria and when the necessary clearance is received from the EU Commission, which is expected towards the end of March.
