183 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of legislative measures to be implemented within his Department to complete the EU Single Market legislative programme (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23597/98]
There are currently 13 EU internal market directives, which comes under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture and Food, due to be transposed into national law by 31 December 1998. A large number of such directives have already been transposed. Every effort is made to meet implementation dates in regard to those on hands but staff resources are a constraining factor.
