Written Answers. - Architectural Heritage.

Enda Kenny

Question:

295 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 102 of 28 January 1999, the number of times the advisory group in relation to the scheme of grants for the conservation of protected buildings has met; the terms and conditions of the proposed scheme; the capital allocated for this purpose in 1999; the amounts to be allocated to each county borough, corporation and county council; and when the scheme will commence. [7244/99]

A sum of £3.9 million has been made available in 1999 for the scheme of grants for the conservation of protected structures. I hope to announce the commencement of the scheme, together with details of terms and conditions, and the amount being allocated to each local authority, shortly.

The advisory group which drafted the terms and conditions for the scheme met four times.
