Vol. 504 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Denis Naughten

Question:

165 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will approve additional staff for the land services division in view of the fact that many schemes are not being put into operation due to the lack of staff and the fact that two personnel have to cover 12 counties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12863/99]

My Department considers that the resources allocated to lands services activities are appropriate to the level of work involved.

My Department keeps the staffing situation in all areas under constant review and I can assure the Deputy that available staffing resources will continue to be used to best effect to meet the day to day needs of its clients.
