Vol. 512 No. 3

Written Answers - Schools Refurbishment.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

309 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position on the refurbishment proposals for a local gaelscoil (details supplied) which applied for approval from his Department following permission from the local VEC; and if he will take particular account of the fact that the unsatisfactory situation compels staff and pupils to use the same toilet facilities; the refurbishment is not of a major nature and the continuing delays are exacerbating the pressures on staff and pupils alike. [25964/99]

The overall long-term accommodation needs of the gaelscoil referred to in the details are being assessed and when this examination has been completed, further consideration will be given to the accommodation needs of the school.
