Liam Lawlor

Question:

294 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will report on any progress in the formulation of regulations for local authorities in relation to public private partnerships to assist in financing water leisure facilities; if the special group with responsibility for recommending guidelines will report to him before Easter 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8637/01]

The report of the interdepartmental working group established to develop guidelines and advise on the other key issues for the operation of a public private partnership approach in relation to swimming pools is currently under consideration in my Department.

Denis Naughten

Question:

295 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will approve funding under the sports capital programme for an application submitted by Rahara Rovers FC, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8736/01]

The sports capital programme for 2001 was advertised in mid December 2000 with a closing date of 9 February, 2001 for the receipt of completed applications. In excess of 1,450 applications were received, including one from the organisation in question. All applications will be evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria, which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the application form. I intend to announce the grant allocations for the programme as soon as possible after the assessment process has been completed.
