Vol. 545 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cattle Statistics.

Question:

89 Dr. Upton asked the Taoiseach the number of cattle in each county here for each month in each of the years from 1996 to 2000. [29569/01]

The precise information requested by the Deputy is not available. The CSO conducts a sample livestock survey every June. The final results from the June survey are published at regional level only. In certain years the June survey covers a larger sample allowing estimates to be made at county level. The most recent information available at county level for cattle is 1997.
