Vol. 546 No. 5

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Denis Naughten

Question:

102 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Defence the number of civil servants in his Department on transfer lists to sections of his Department outside of Dublin; the locations and numbers involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32310/01]

There are currently no civil servants serving in my Department who are on transfer lists to sections of my Department outside Dublin. The Deputy will be aware that in the context of the White Paper on Defence, the Government decided to decentralise the civil defence branch of my Department to Roscrea, County Tipperary. It is anticipated that the relocation will take place next year. In this regard, five officers have expressed a willingness to transfer to Roscrea.
