Vol. 562 No. 6

Written Answers - National Lottery Funding.

Denis Naughten

Question:

120 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding will be approved under the lottery grants scheme for St. Vincent de Paul Regional Office (Breffni), Stephen Mews, Stephen Street, County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6812/03]

My Department received an application for a grant from the 2003 health and children allocation of national lottery funds from the St. Vincent de Paul regional office, Stephen Street, Sligo. There is a protocol in my Department for processing applications for national lottery grants. A standard application form is made available to an organisation seeking a national lottery grant. When the completed application form is received in my Department it is registered in the finance unit and forwarded to the relevant services division for assessment, evaluation and recommendation. All applications are then considered in the context of the recommendations and the overall level of funds available. The organisation is seeking funding towards the cost of extending the community hall. This application is one of many under consideration for a grant from my Department and the organisation will be informed as soon as a decision has been made.
