Question:171 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the status of the application made by Nano Nagle School, Listowel, for an extension of existing school buildings. [30200/03]

The proposed large-scale building project for Nano Nagle School is listed in section 7 of the 2003 school building programme, which is published on my Department's website at www.education.ieThat proposed project is at stage two to three, outline sketch scheme and developed sketch scheme, of architectural planning. It has been assigned a “band one” rating by my Department in accordance with the published criteria for prioritising large-scale projects.
I intend to publish details of the 2004 school building programme by early January at the latest. The programme will clarify what progress is planned for projects such as Nano Nagle National School during 2004.
