Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to meet with Chairpersons Designate of Irish Aviation Authority and An Post

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 November, for separate engagements with the Chairpersons Designate of the Irish Aviation Authority and An Post to discuss their strategic priorities.

The meeting at 1.30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions:

  • 1.30pm-3pm – Rose Hynes, Chairperson Designate of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), and Diarmuid Ó Conghaile, Regulator, IAA;
  • 3pm-4.30pm – Carol Bolger, Chairperson Designate of An Post.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kieran O’Donnell said: “In our first session, the Committee welcomes the opportunity to meet with Rose Hynes, Chair Designate of the Irish Aviation Authority to discuss her strategic priorities for the role.

“In our second session, we look forward to meeting with Carol Bolger, Chair Designate of An Post. Post offices provide important services and community links and the Committee welcome the opportunity to discuss with Ms. Bolger her vision for the future of An Post, ensuring its services are maintained and enhanced for rural and urban Ireland alike.”

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
