Joint Committee on Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth to meet for engagement with stakeholders regarding “Youth Work”

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kathleen Funchion TD said “the Committee meets today to discuss the important issue of “Youth Work.

As Chair of the Committee on Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth, I am fully aware of the importance of Youth Work to Irish society and know how positive the participation impacts on those who engage in this sector.

We look forward to hearing from the stakeholders about the challenges facing the providers of Youth Work which includes funding, staffing and premises and how as a Committee, we can continue dialogue with the Department to examine how these issues can be addressed to continue the invaluable service that is provided to society.”
