Members of the Joint Committee on Transport and Communications travel to Donegal to visit Donegal Airport as part of their National Aviation Policy examination

8 May 2023, 16:11

Members of the Joint Committee on Transport and Communications including Senator Gerard Craughwell, Senator Gerry Horkan and Deputy Martin Kenny have travelled to Donegal to meet with representatives from Donegal Airport and to embark on a tour of the facilities. The trip is part of the Transport and Communications Committee’s continuing examination of Ireland’s National Aviation Policy.

Committee Leas-Cathaoirleach Senator Gerry Horkan said: “this meeting with representatives from Donegal Airport follows on previous engagements our Committee has had with the Minister and Minister of State for Transport and previous meetings with all the major airlines and airports in Ireland as part of our consideration of Ireland’s National Aviation Policy.

This meeting will allow us to gain first hand analysis and insights from Donegal Airport to add to our previous meetings on how the current challenges that the industry faces can be addressed and how we feel the Irish Government can best work with the sector to improve the experience for regional Irish airports, aviation companies, employees and customers.”
