The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet today, Wednesday 10 May 2023 for discussion on long-term strategy and plans for future development of Irish ports in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House.

The Committee will hear from representatives from:

·       Port of Cork

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Leas-Cathaoirleach Senator Gerry Horkan said “our meeting today comes after last month’s engagement with Mr David McGarry from the Shannon Foynes Port. The importance of our ports to Ireland’s positive economic position cannot be underestimated.

We look forward to getting the perspectives from the representatives from the 4 ports on how they feel the Department of Transport and Government can help maintain and develop Ireland’s ports both from climate and economic viewpoints.”
