Joint Committee on Transport meet with daa Chief Executive Officer Kenny Jacobs for discussion on recruitment and training at Dublin Airport and daa’s recently announced 15 point plan for the summer holidays

13 Jun 2023, 14:11

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday 14 June 2023 for discussion on recruitment and training at Dublin Airport and daa’s recently announced 15 point plan for the summer holidays with representatives from daa including CEO Kenny Jacobs at 1:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Leas-Chathaoirleach Senator Gerry Horkan said “our Committee looks forward to meeting again with daa CEO Kenny Jacobs to get a timely update on the progress and status of recruitment and training at Dublin Airport. We remain vigilant to any possible disruption to both individual and business passengers and to that end we will also seek in-depth insight into the 15 point plan.

I am pleased that daa are making themselves available to provide this up-date as the holiday season continues. The Committee will seek information on the current position at the airport and any difficulties that are manifesting themselves at this early stage of the summer period. It is important that the Committee and the public generally understand where things stand in this regard so that Dublin airport – a vital part of our national infrastructure – continues to serve the State’s needs.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
